Best Shoe Rack Under ₹2000
Updated 5 November 2026
A shoe rack has one job: get shoes off the floor without collapsing. The number to check is not the tier count but the pair capacity per tier, because a four-tier rack with narrow shelves holds nine pairs while another holds twenty.
Frame material decides how long it lasts. Steel tube racks with anti-rust coating handle a wet Indian monsoon entryway; plastic-and-metal stackable racks are cheaper and easier to move but flex under weight. Slanted shelves hold more pairs in the same footprint because shoes sit toe-down instead of side by side.
The seven picks here range from ₹249 for a stackable plastic rack to ₹1999 for a four-tier metal stand. Prices were checked on the date shown and ratings read from each listing.

D&V Engineering 4-Tier Metal Shoe Rack, 12 Pairs
4 tiers · 12 pairs · Steel pipes · Anti-rust coating · 50 kg capacity
Best for: A family entryway that sees daily use
- The highest-rated rack here, rated for 12 pairs and 50 kg — enough for boots and sports shoes, not just slippers.
- Steel pipes with anti-rust coating hold up through monsoon humidity better than painted wire.
- A compact footprint that fits a closet, entryway or balcony without blocking the door.
Watch out: Costs more than twice the budget racks. If you only keep four or five pairs, the extra capacity is wasted.
Approx. ₹1,410

HOME CUBE 4-Tier Metal Shoe Rack, Multi-Purpose
4 tiers · 9 pairs · Metal frame · Free standing · Top shelf
Best for: An entryway that also needs a place for bags and keys
- The top shelf takes bags, helmets or plants, so it works as a small console rather than just a shoe rack.
- Metal frame with a clean black finish that suits a living-room entryway, not just a utility corner.
- Sturdy enough to double as shelving for books or kitchen storage if your needs change.
Watch out: Only nine pairs for the highest price here. Buy it for the multi-purpose shelf, not for shoe capacity.
Approx. ₹1,999

TARKAN Steel Shoe Rack with Slanted Shelves, 4 Tier
4 tiers · 16–20 pairs · Slanted shelves · 70 × 70 cm footprint
Best for: A small entryway with a lot of shoes
- Slanted shelves fit 16–20 pairs in a 70 × 70 cm footprint — the best capacity here by a wide margin.
- Steel frame with strong pipes, so it stays rigid even when every tier is full.
- At ₹898 it costs less than the 12-pair D&V rack while holding almost twice as many shoes.
Watch out: Slanted shelves suit flat shoes and sneakers better than tall boots, which can slide off the front edge.
Approx. ₹898

ABJA 4-Tier Metal Shoe Rack with Curved Side Frame
4 tiers · 10 pairs · Metal · Raised curved side frame · Black
Best for: A visible entryway where the rack is part of the decor
- The curved side frame looks like furniture rather than a utility rack, which matters if it sits in a visible entryway.
- 10 pairs with generous space between tiers, so larger shoes fit without scraping the shelf above.
- Metal construction with a finish that suits a living room.
Watch out: Lowest rating in the guide at 3.8, and only 10 pairs for ₹1282. Buy it for the look, not the value.
Approx. ₹1,282

Ebee 4-Shelf Collapsible Metal Shoe Rack
4 shelves · 58 × 28 × 72 cm · Collapsible metal · Black
Best for: A corridor or rented room with a narrow wall
- A narrow 58 × 28 cm footprint fits a corridor or beside a door where a 70 cm rack will not.
- Collapsible design folds flat for moving or storing between tenants.
- At ₹429 it is a low-risk purchase for a rental or a hostel room.
Watch out: Narrow shelves mean two pairs per tier at most, and the frame is lighter than the steel racks above.
Approx. ₹429

AUNO 3-Tier Stackable Shoe Rack, Plastic and Metal
3 tiers · Stackable · Metal frame · Plastic connectors · Compact
Best for: A small flat or balcony that needs flexible storage
- Stack two units to make a six-tier rack, or split them into two corners of the house.
- The cheapest way to get shoes off the floor, and light enough to move while cleaning.
- Vertical layout maximises space in a small flat or a balcony.
Watch out: Plastic joints flex under weight. Keep it to slippers and light shoes, not boots.
Approx. ₹259

4-Tier Foldable Plastic and Metal Shoe Stand, 12–16 Pairs
4 tiers · 12–16 pairs · Foldable · Metal frame · Stackable
Best for: A spare rack for a balcony or a rented room
- Four tiers and a claimed 12–16 pairs for ₹249 — the lowest price in this guide.
- Folds and stacks, so it can be stored flat or doubled up when you need more space.
- Light enough to move from the door to the balcony when it rains.
Watch out: The 5.0 rating is based on a very small number of reviews. The capacity claim is optimistic for a plastic-jointed frame — treat it as a light-duty rack.

Count pairs, not tiers
A tier holds three to five pairs depending on shelf width and whether it is flat or slanted. The D&V rack here is rated for 12 pairs across four tiers; the TARKAN slanted rack claims 16–20 pairs in a 70 × 70 cm footprint. Same tier count, very different capacity.
Measure the widest shoe in the house before buying. Men’s formal shoes and sports shoes run 28–32 cm long, and a 58 cm wide rack only fits two pairs per tier if the shoes are placed straight. Slanted shelves let you tuck the toe of one pair under the heel of the next.
Height matters in a corridor. A four-tier rack is typically 65–80 cm tall — fine under a window or beside a door, but check it does not block a switchboard or a shoe cabinet door.
| Rack type | Pairs (typical) | Footprint | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4-tier steel, flat | 9–12 | 58–70 cm wide | Entryway beside a door |
| 4-tier steel, slanted | 16–20 | 70 × 70 cm | Small entryway with many shoes |
| 3-tier stackable plastic | 6–9 | Compact, stackable | Hostel, rental, balcony |
Steel, plastic or a mix
Powder-coated steel tube is the best frame for an Indian home. It does not warp in humidity, it carries 50 kg without bowing, and the coating stops rust at the joints — which is where cheap racks fail first.
Plastic-and-metal stackable racks are lighter and cheaper, and they can be split into two smaller units or stacked. The trade-off is rigidity: a plastic joint that is kicked daily loosens within a year.
Assembly is usually push-fit or a few screws. Tighten everything before loading the rack, and put the heaviest shoes on the bottom tier — a top-heavy rack is what tips over when someone pulls a pair out one-handed.
Questions we get asked
How many pairs does a 4-tier shoe rack hold?
Between 9 and 20, depending on shelf width and whether the shelves are flat or slanted. Slanted shelves hold more because shoes sit toe-down instead of side by side.
Is a metal shoe rack better than plastic?
For a permanent entryway, yes — steel tube with anti-rust coating stays rigid and handles a wet monsoon. Plastic stackable racks are better for rentals and hostels where you need to move them.
Where should I keep a shoe rack?
Just inside the door, on a dry surface, out of direct sunlight. Keep it off a wet floor and away from a bathroom door — damp shoes on a steel rack are what cause rust at the joints.
