Best Beard Trimmer for Men
Updated 5 November 2026
A beard trimmer is one of the few gadgets where the cheapest option is often good enough — but only if you check three numbers: the shortest length setting, the runtime, and whether the blades are self-sharpening.
The cheapest trimmers here start at ₹549 and still offer 40 length settings and 90 minutes of runtime. The ₹1,299 Philips adds tools for nose, ear and body hair rather than a better beard cut. Paying more mostly buys attachments and warranty, not a closer trim.
All seven were verified on Amazon India on the date shown. Runtime and length figures are manufacturer claims; battery life in real use depends on beard thickness and how often you trim.

- 90 minutes of runtime from a 90-minute charge, with Type-C charging.
- Two-year warranty and self-sharpening stainless steel blades at ₹549.

- 38 settings from 0.5 mm stubble to a 20 mm beard.
- Smart lock holds the length setting so it cannot shift mid-trim.

VGR V-071 Professional Beard Trimmer
T-blade · turbo mode · 120 min runtime · USB Type-C · 3 length settings · 2-year warranty
Best for: Sharp lines, fades and neckline work
- A T-blade is designed for clean outlines — the shape barbers use for edges and fades.
- Turbo mode adds cutting power for thick or wet-again beards.
- 120 minutes of runtime and Type-C charging at ₹849.
Watch out: Only three length settings, so it is an edging tool first. For all-over beard length control, choose the 38 or 40-setting trimmers.

Philips BT3325 Beard Trimmer with Lift & Trim
10 length settings · 0.5–10 mm · 60 min runtime · 15-min quick charge · 3-year warranty
Best for: The safest long-term buy for a beard-only trimmer
- Self-sharpening steel blades with rounded tips — the blades stay sharp instead of pulling hair.
- A 15-minute quick charge gives one full trim, so a dead battery never blocks a morning shave.
- Three-year warranty, the longest in this guide.
Watch out: Only 10 length settings and a 60-minute runtime — half of what the Vega and Bombay Shaving trimmers offer at a lower price.
Approx. ₹899

Vega SmartOne S3 Beard Trimmer
IPX7 · 40 settings · 160 min runtime · titanium blade · 3 speeds · Type-C
Best for: Rinsing under the tap after every trim
- IPX7 is the highest water rating here — it can be rinsed and even briefly submerged.
- 160 minutes of runtime is the longest in this guide.
- 40 length settings and three speed modes for light, normal and thick beards.
Watch out: The IPX7 claim covers water, not drops. The body is plastic and the blade head is the part to protect.

Philips MG3927 All-in-One Grooming Kit
9 tools · beard, hair, nose, body, eyebrow · 60 min runtime · 2-year warranty
Best for: Replacing four separate grooming tools
- Nine tools cover beard, hair, nose, ear, body and eyebrow — the widest set here.
- Rounded-tip self-sharpening blades and a skin-protect comb for sensitive areas.
- Philips service and a two-year warranty on the whole kit.
Watch out: Same 60-minute runtime as the ₹899 Philips. You are paying for attachments, not longer battery life.

The one number that matters: shortest length
A trimmer is only as useful as its shortest setting. If you want stubble, look for 0.5 mm; if the shortest setting is 1 mm, no amount of comb juggling will give you a close, even stubble.
The second number is the longest. A 20 mm reach covers a full beard; a 10 mm trimmer caps out at a medium beard. The cheaper Vega and Bombay Shaving trimmers both reach 20 mm, while the ₹899 Philips stops at 10 mm.
More settings between those two ends means finer steps. 38–40 settings let you move a millimetre at a time; 10 settings jump in roughly 1 mm steps, which is fine for most beards but coarse for fades.
| Trimmer | Range | Settings | Runtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vega Power Lite | 0.5–20 mm | 40 | 90 min |
| Bombay Shaving | 0.5–20 mm | 38 | 120 min |
| Vega SmartOne S3 | 0.5–20 mm | 40 | 160 min |
| Philips BT3325 | 0.5–10 mm | 10 | 60 min |
| Philips MG3927 | Beard kit | 9 tools | 60 min |
Runtime, quick charge and what actually runs out
Runtime claims range from 60 to 160 minutes on a single charge. A typical beard trim takes 5–10 minutes, so even the 60-minute Philips covers about six sessions before charging.
Quick charge is more useful than a big battery. A 5-minute charge that gives one full trim, or a 15-minute charge that finishes the job, matters more than a 160-minute number you never use in one go.
Battery type is rarely stated. Nickel-metal-hydride cells lose capacity faster than lithium-ion and dislike being stored empty. If the listing says Li-ion, that is the better long-term choice.
Waterproofing, blades and skin
IPX7 means the trimmer can be rinsed under a tap after use, which keeps beard hair out of the blade and the cut cleaner over time. Trimmers with no IP rating should be brushed out dry; washing them can seize the motor.
Self-sharpening blades are standard from ₹549 upward. What differs is the tip: rounded tips glide on skin, square tips catch. If you trim close to the neck and jaw, rounded tips are worth the premium.
Turbo mode raises motor speed for thick beards. It also drains the battery faster and generates more heat at the blade, so use it for the dense areas and drop back to normal speed for edging.
Questions we get asked
Is a ₹549 trimmer good enough?
For beard trimming at home, yes — it has 40 length settings and 90 minutes of runtime. It lacks a waterproof rating and the blade quality of a Philips, so it will not last as many years.
Can I use a beard trimmer on my head?
Only if it ships with hair combs. The Havells 7-in-1 and Philips MG3927 include hair attachments; the beard-only models have too short a reach for a full haircut.
Does IPX7 mean I can use it in the shower?
IPX7 means it survives brief immersion in water. Rinsing the head under a tap is fine; leaving it wet or using it in a running shower is not recommended by any of these listings.
