Best Hand Blender Under ₹2000

Updated 5 November 2026

A hand blender is the appliance you reach for when a mixer grinder is too much effort: a quick chutney, a soup, a milkshake, a bowl of besan batter. Under ₹2,000 every model is 250–300 W, which is enough for soft and medium jobs and not enough for dry masala or ice.

The differences that matter are the shaft material, the attachment set and the switch. A stainless-steel shaft will not stain or absorb smell; a plastic one eventually does. A chopper attachment turns the blender into a small food processor for onions and garlic, and a whisk makes cream and eggs possible.

These six are all under ₹2,000, with prices checked on the date shown and ratings read from each Amazon listing. Two are Philips, which is the reference point for shaft quality at this price.

  • A stainless-steel blade and a comfort grip — the parts that actually matter at this price.

2. Best steel shaftRated 4 / 5 on Amazon

Philips HL1681 Hand Blender, 300 W, Steel Arm

300 W · Detachable rust-free steel arm

Best for: Daily blending with a shaft that will not stain or smell

  • A detachable stainless-steel arm is the upgrade that matters: it cleans properly and does not absorb the smell of onion or turmeric.
  • Philips’ blade and shaft design is the benchmark at this price, and spare parts are easy to find.
  • 300 W with a simple, reliable push-button operation.

Watch out: No chopper or whisk in the box at this price — it is a blender only.

3. Best with chopperRated 4 / 5 on Amazon

Philips HL1683 Hand Blender, 300 W, Chopper

300 W · Steel arm · Chopper attachment · Smart Flow blades

Best for: Blending and chopping onion, garlic and herbs with one tool

  • The chopper attachment turns it into a small processor for onion, garlic, ginger and coriander — the most useful extra in this list.
  • Smart Flow blades are shaped to reduce suction, so the blender moves through thick mixtures instead of sticking to the bottom.
  • A rust-free SS304 arm and blades, with the build quality Philips is known for.

Watch out: At ₹1,999 it is at the top of the budget, and the chopper is small — good for a handful of onion, not a full batch.

Approx. ₹1,999

4. Best attachment setRated 4 / 5 on Amazon

KENT Hand Blender, 300 W, 5 Speeds, Dough Hooks

300 W · 5 variable speeds · Beaters and dough hooks · Turbo

Best for: Baking and whisking as well as blending

  • Five speeds plus a turbo function give more control than the single-speed models here.
  • Beaters and dough hooks make it a hand mixer as well — useful for cakes, cream and soft dough.
  • A 300 W copper motor, which is the more durable winding choice at this price.

Watch out: The dough hooks are for light dough only; do not use them for stiff atta dough or the motor will labour.

6. Best for quiet operationRated 3.8 / 5 on Amazon

Bajaj HB-20 Silent Hand Blender, 300 W

300 W · Detachable stem · Penta Flow breaker · Low noise

Best for: Early-morning blending without waking the house

  • The “silent” claim is the point: a lower-noise motor and housing for early tea or a shake.
  • A detachable stem and a Penta Flow breaker that keeps the mixture moving.
  • An inbuilt hanger and a push-button switch, with Bajaj service behind it.

Watch out: Rated 3.8, and quiet motors usually trade some blending power — do not expect it to handle thick mixtures like the Philips.

What 250–300 W can and cannot do

A 250–300 W hand blender handles cooked dal, soups, chutney, milkshakes, lassi, besan batter and small quantities of onion or tomato. It struggles with dry masala, coffee beans, ice and thick idli batter — those need a mixer grinder, not more wattage in a stick.

Hand blenders are meant for short bursts. Run them 30–60 seconds at a time and let the motor rest; the winding is small and the plastic housing traps heat. Running one continuously for five minutes is how most of them die.

Never lift the blade out of the food while it is running. It sprays, and more importantly it lets the motor spin free at full speed, which is hard on the bearings.

Shaft, attachments and the switch

A stainless-steel shaft is the one upgrade worth paying for. It does not stain from turmeric, does not hold the smell of onion, and cleans properly. Plastic shafts are cheaper and scratch, and scratches harbour colour and odour.

A chopper bowl is the second useful attachment — it turns the stick into a mini processor for onion, garlic, ginger and coriander. A whisk is worth having only if you beat cream or eggs; a dough hook on a 300 W motor is optimistic for anything beyond a small, soft dough.

Check the switch ergonomics too: a press-and-hold trigger is safer than a sliding switch because the blade stops the moment you let go. The Philips models here use a detachable metal arm, which also makes cleaning easier.

Questions we get asked

Can a hand blender grind dry masala?

No. Dry spices need a mixer grinder with a dry jar. A hand blender will spin over the powder without grinding it and the motor will overheat.

Is 300 W enough for chutney?

Yes, for coconut, tomato and coriander chutney in small quantities. Add a little water, use short bursts, and do not fill the beaker more than halfway.

Can I blend hot dal directly in the pot?

Yes, off the heat, but keep the blade fully submerged and the pot deep enough that it does not splash. Never blend while the gas is on.
